Fikiri Nzoyisenga is a dedicated community organizer, youth activist, and gender justice advocate. Throughout his more than ten years of experience, he has spearheaded highly impactful community-driven development programs that have contributed to promoting social cohesion, fostering women's and youth's grassroots political participation, and increasing livelihood resilience for local communities. Fikiri is the Executive Director of SEMERERA, a youth-led coalition fighting toward the eradication of all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination in Burundi. He also works with the World Bank office in Burundi as a Community Development Specialist. He holds an LLM Degree in International Human Rights Law from the United Kingdom (Bangor University) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation at Makerere University (Kampala, Uganda). Fikiri is also an alumnus of some prestigious fellowship programs, including the Rotary Peace Fellowship (2021), the Obama Foundation Leaders Africa (2018), the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (2014), and the Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellowship (2020). For his hobbies, Fikiri likes to read novels, and play draughts and football.
