YOUTH4BEHAVIOURCHANGE

Youth for behavior Change is a youth led organization that start operating on the 14th September 2021. It started with a group of youth who were 10 in number who came up with the idea of how they can make a positive impact on Uganda’s health burdens through Sexual Behaviour Change Communication. However, the Organization became registered in March, 2022 to start operating its activities legally. It was registered as BECH initiative meaning BEHAVIOUR CHANGE INITIATIVE under registration number 80020003552932.

Youth for behaviour change is an initiative that aims to provide sexual reproductive health services to the Ugandan populace, the initiative has prioritized ending teenage pregnancy in its annual implementations. Among other the project intends to integrate in the long run other services sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) and HIV/AIDS, adolescent counselling, family planning counselling, sexual & menstrual hygiene, empowerment through skilling and entrepreneurship and also promoting the sustainable development goals such as No poverty, Good health and well being , Gender equity and also climate action.

This initiative aims to cover the entire country (Uganda), in this agenda. A phased implementation in a regional concept is to be carried out. The regions shall include central, northern, eastern and western regions. The regional implementation is carried out in a district model, areas with high prevalence of reproductive health problems are to be given a high priority to avoid conflict of interest.

Special groups (disabled younger persons, refugee populations, sex workers, Truck drivers and Boda-bodas, University students among others) shall be given a single model of intervention. These groups are considered extremely vulnerable to reproductive health problems and therefore requires specific intervention that this initiative aims to address
