It is no longer a secret that social media is the new form of social gatherings. People no longer have to meet physically to discuss one of two things.

However, there are a lot of distractions on social media that can waste people's time especially kids. So, assuming you've got a kid, at what age will you introduce them to social media?

Legally they're not supposed to join any website here in the US until they're at least 13 years old, without their parent or guardian permission. There's the COPPA law that was passed in the late 90's. I'm sure there's kids that are younger than 13 that are on the internet though. I don't have kids, but if I ever did have them I would wait until they're at least 12 to allow them to use social media.
