Disney wants to release two new Star Wars games every year, according to a new report. Although the galaxy far, far away saw numerous video game releases over the 1990s and 2000s, the 2010s were much quieter - due in part to EA's now-defunct deal with Disney to exclusively develop Star Wars titles. EA's tenure with the Star Wars license was marred with controversy, with both Star Wars Battlefront games developed by Battlefield makers DICE falling afoul of criticism at launch. However, the publisher ended the decade much more strongly than it began, with Battlefront 2 experiencing an impressive Clone Wars-inspired comeback, and Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order earning plaudits for being a compelling single-player action-adventure.
