I was walking home today and just a few blocks from my building, a man shouted at me. Catcalling is annoyingly common where I am so I didn’t think anything of it. Then it felt like he was following me so I sped up and ducked into my building, and saw him follow me into my building. Our external doors are unlocked, then there’s a person at a desk and doors that are key access (but people tailgate a lot). I don’t know how far he made it because I sprinted past the key doors into the locked stairs as fast as I could, but I am freaking out. Maybe it was a random incident but I am terrified that this guy knows where I live now. He could lurk near the building or do that again. I know I should’ve tried to lose him but I was so close to home and I panicked. Just looking for any words of comfort because now I’m freaking out about leaving my apartment tomorrow, and unfortunately I know I’m not the only one who’s had this experience.
